In 2003, the New York Knicks wanted the first overall pick in the NBA draft so much, they vowed if they got it, they would change the burrow's name to "LeBronx"

I thought "I must be a great basketball player!" when I was taken in the first round of the draft, but then I got to training camp and they handed me a gun and fatigues.

The general manager of the Boston Celtics was running late to take his seat at the first NBA Draft. He entered the meeting room at Madison Square Garden and asked if he was in the correct place, coining the phrase, "Is there a draft in here?"

The family of Steve Nash moved to Canada when Steve was a boy to protect their son from being taken in the Draft. Ironically, Nash is the only Canadian MVP of the NBA.

The first "first round" draft pick ever was the "Michelin Man". In 1946 the
Syracuse Nationals, owned by Italian immigrant Danny Biasone, didn't quite understand the process.

In 2001 the Wizards drafted a center out of HS without hands. Considered a sure thing despite his disability Kwame never live up to his pre-draft hype and five years and numerous missed passes later they convinced the Lakers to take this 7 foot tall mistake and turned him into Caron Butler. The sixth overall pick of the 2001 draft.
