About Us
While we could give you a standard, “Who we are, What we do” type of About page, we decided instead to come up with a story that provides you with all of that information, but that makes us sound more important and that allows us to use a fancy font. Here is said story:
Legend has it that deep in the woods of Maryland there is a spring, placed there by the gods, with water so pure it shines like silver. Anyone who drinks of this spring would be endowed with certain gifts, yet only the most noble, generous, and pure-hearted would be able to find it. The first of these gifts is the desire to spread a love of music to all, and an undying dedication to this pursuit. Second, the drinker receives a sense of joviality, a kindness towards the common man, and the urge to spread their goodhearted foolishness through humor and shenanigans. Finally, the third gift is more of a curse, as the gods are wont to do, for it makes the drinker devoid of any musical talent. (Ironic, huh?)
As the story goes, two brothers, while wandering around singing foolish songs, happened to stumble upon this Silver Spring, and unaware of its significance, began to drink. As it turned out, these brothers were for the most part unchanged, as their joviality was already well-known in the land, and their desire to spread a love of music was as strong as their inability to produce it.
There was one change, however. These brothers decided to find a better way to spread their music, so all could enjoy. And thus, the Pake Shlake Band was formed, dedicated to providing care-free entertainment by promoting childlike foolishness. And while the members of the Pake Shlake Band may be unaware, those of us who have heard the legend know that it is not about the music. It is about spreading goodwill throughout the land, one ridiculous song at a time.
