Hello, again. As you know, we at the Pake Shlake band pride ourselves on laziness. And, as we were priding ourselves on this, we realized that we had two deadly sins on our hands. And that made us mad! And jealous! Well, then we had four deadly sins, and we decided to get greedy and go for five!

Anyway, our deadly sin count is not the point of this post. Of course not. That would be ridiculous. The point of the post was to let you, our faithful fans, know that the Pake Shlake Band is going to be taking a break.

Yes, the Pake Shlake Band has become the Take Break Band. That’s right. It’s a TBB Original Game, Breaktakers. And we win.

Allow us to explain. When we started Shlake.com, we wanted a site where we could express ourselves in a crazy and funny way. Sometimes you would laugh, sometimes you would be confused, but every post should make you think, “Wow, those are some crazy guys!” and you would either laugh or furrow your brow.

But, instead of two crazy and funny brothers running a crazy and funny site, we turned into two poor stand-up comedians delivering one liners that even we didn’t think were funny. Not exactly a recipe for success.

So, we are taking a break and finding our roots. (And you know how much we love sweet potatoes).

What does this mean for you? Well, not much. As you know, we are over two years old now, which in blog years is like 65, meaning we are ready to retire to Florida and start eating dinners at four. (Pass the sweet potatoes!)

Anyway, we will not be posting as frequently as we did in our youth, but feel free to check back from time to time since we probably will throw some stuff up. And, since we won’t be posting every day, the stuff we throw up should be funnier. Or at least more true to ourselves, i.e. ridiculous.

We thank all of you who were regular posters – Lorenzo, Luca, Tony, Sam, DJ, Mamma Meg, Big A – and those less frequent posters, who are either not worthy of naming or actually just spammers that got through our filters.

Don’t think of this as a “Goodbye,” think of it as a “See you later.” Much later. Think of it as a “See you in hell!” No, think of it as a “Sayonara.” Or an “Adios.” Or a “Bon voyage.” Or, who knows what.

Anyway, thanks for reading this and never be afraid to shlake it up. Grac.

Hello, everyone. Did you notice that we didn’t have a Super Heroes story last week?

Well we’ve been thinking: the story was on Chapter 52, that means 52 weeks, which is a year, by our calendar. So, we think it’s high time to give the Story Time a little Vacation Time, since no one should work a year straight without a little time off. Not even fictional characters. (Wait, are we fictional?) No, but we are playing fictional characters in the story. (Oh.)

To fill the void, we will be taking the opportunity to try out some new sections, so please give us your feedback, because we like nothing more than hearing electric guitars with the amps too loud. Wait, no, not that type of feedback. Give us your thoughts.

If you like what we are doing, tell us. If you don’t, dude, what’s your problem? Give us a break, we’re trying really hard here. (Well, not that hard.) Anyway, the point is, we are trying out some different stuff, so see if you like it. And don’t worry, our friendly heroes with odd powers will be back soon enough.

Today, Shlake.com is one year old! Woo-hoo! We should start walking soon. We’ve been spewing out incoherent babble for quite a while now.

Hello, folks! As you may know, we at the Pake Shlake Band are big fans of politics. (We are?) (Well, not really big fans, sort of average fans.) (Ok, that’s better.)

As you may know, we at the Pake Shlake Band are sort of average fans of politics. And, we find political cartoons enjoyable. But, not that enjoyable. In fact, we think they stink. Big time. And to show this, we have decided to start doing our own political cartoons. (Whaat?) Mike has taken it upon himself to enter the cartooning business. He is not the best artist. In fact, we think he stinks. Big time. But, we figured, what the heck? So, in the next few days, you might see some political cartoons on this site.

Hello, again.

As you know, we at the Pake Shlake Band do not approve of working over the weekend. In fact, we do not approve of working at all, but especially not on the weekend, and especially not long weekends. What is the point of a long weekend if you have to work during it? Then they might as well call it a long workend. But, fortunately, they don’t, so we don’t. Work on weekends, that is.

As a few of you noticed, we may or may not have forgotten to put up a Story Time last week. And, seeing as yesterday was a Monday that was part of a long weekend, it seemed like you might have to miss out on the next chapter of the story for two weeks in a row. But, we felt this would not be fair. An injustice, so to speak. So, in order to prevent that injustice, we are having a rare Tuesday showing of our Story Time. We know, it’s hard to believe, but to ensure we provide you with quality humor, we at the Pake Shlake Band will do whatever it takes. Well, except work on weekends.

A couple weeks back, we talked a little bit about super heroes and super hero names. That got us thinking: what would life be like with super powers? So with that in mind, we decided to add a new section to this here site: Story Time.

We’re gonna be telling a story over a loooong period of time using teeny tiny chapters that will always leave you asking for more. (That doesn’t sound like a good thing.)

Anyway, the first story will be called “Super Heroes,” and it will be all about the members of the Pake Shlake Band receiving super powers and the shenanigans that ensue. Stay tuned.

As you may know, we at the Pake Shlake Band don’t post over the weekend since we disapprove of working on weekends. In fact, we disapprove of working during the week as well, but since society dictates it, we usually turn a blind eye. And a cold shoulder. And a few heads. And a … next paragraph!

Anyway, since we know how much you love our site, we’ve begun a new section here at Shlake.com: Game Time. The way it works is, we’ll be putting out fun things to do every Friday, and you, the reader, will get to play along. Basically, we’ll pose some sort of question, and whoever wants to can throw out their answer in the comments. And if you think of a new answer over the weekend, post another comment; it’s the gift that keeps on giving. (I thought that was fruitcake). (Or the plague).

So check out the new stuff, post your responses in the comments, and check back on Monday to read everyone’s responses. It should be pretty fun.
